Dear Groves Band Parents & Students,


News from the Groves Band Boosters

The Marching Band students have been putting on a brilliant performance during the football half-time shows!  Fans have cheered to all-time favorite British rock songs like “Get off of my cloud”,  “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”,  and  “You Really Got Me”.  Students are working hard each week to add new moves and new songs to present a Rock ‘n Roll extravaganza.  Our next performances will be on Friday September 25th and Homecoming on October 9th.

New families to the band program are also asked to send a “hello” email message to president@grovesband.com to be added to the booster group list to receive information conveyed via email from Mr. Z. and the Band Boosters. 

Next Band Booster Meeting will be on January 13th at 7:00 p.m. in Room B-9

All band families are encouraged to join the Groves Band Boosters.  The Boosters help to support Summer Band Camp, additional support instructors, expenses for equipment repair and replacement, band travel expenses, awards and many other things that make our music program at Groves the best! Groves Band Booster Co-Presidents

 The 200+ member Groves High School Band has participated in numerous music festivals throughout the U.S. and abroad.  Among them are the Fort Michilimackinac Memorial Day Parade; Showcase Festivals in Ohio; Seaworld, Disney World and Universal Studios in Florida; the Canadian Thanksgiving Day Parade in Ontario; and the Dixie Classics National Adjudicators Invitational Virginia and Washington, DC.  The band has traveled twice to London, U.K. to participate in the Lord Mayor’s New Years Day Parade and perform at Westminster Concert Hall. They performed at the Michigan State Fair Parade for the past 14 years. Groves Band has earned numerous First Division awards at the Michigan School Band and Orchestra district marching band and concert band festivals.  They also host the Metropolitan Youth Symphony, the Birmingham Adult Concert Band and the Birmingham Marching Band Invitational.
